203 Fine Art presents AMERICA MARTIN: New Works 2015

203 Fine Art presents its fourth solo exhibition of Martin's work which evokes classical and indigenous forms reminiscent of the Impressionists and Modernists of the early 20th century.

Artist's Reception: Saturday, July 11, 2015 4 - 7 pm Exhibition Dates: July 10 - August 8, 2015

Represented across the country and internationally collected, R Martin continues to impress audiences with her bold work. Based in Los Angeles, America is a Columbian-American fine artist who has received international recognition for her unique combination of abstract and indigenous motifs. Her accomplished confidence in mark making and gesture is clearly that of a dedicated and prolific artist.

America's work can be found in galleries around the world as well as the private collections of celebrities such as Danny Devito, Kirsten Dunst, Ted Danson, and John Ratzenberger. Although she was born in the United States, America's Colombian heritage is obvious and alive in her work through striking use of color, bold lines, and compositions that are generous both in size and emotion. America's portraits create depictions of the human form that are larger than life. This exhibit is an amalgam of America's Colombian roots and the inspiration she's finds in her reading and her travels. Martin finds joy in the re-telling of these stories, and in the process has discovered a lexicon through which she has created her own allegory.
