Bedroom and Bathroom Lorraine Enwright, Intuitive Dwellings by Enwright Design Collaborative Inc.

Taking cues from the bath’s black marble and tile, Lorraine Enwright embraced moody colors and dramatic contrast in her guest suite. An eye-catching wood veneer wallcovering makes a statement behind the bed, while touches of blush pink, natural textures, and figurative artworks provide balance in both the bedroom and bath. “We wanted the wallpaper to stand out as the star of the room, so all other design decisions were made to complement the natural veneers in the pattern with ebony, charcoal, and natural oak coloration,” explains Enwright. Above the bed, three framed sketches—hung vertically from the ceiling so as not to puncture the wallpaper—add subtle softness. A custom bronze wood finish on the nightstand’s waterfall top contrasts with the white bouclé bed frame. Says Enwright, “We wanted to tell the story of a reflective retreat that considers our many faces: drama, passion, softness, intellect, and introspection.” —Claire Ruhlin
